Charging Setup Guide for Farizon SuperVAN Electric Van Fleets

A guide to setting up AC and DC charging for businesses running the Farizon SuperVAN, from electrical assessment and charging schedules to LFP battery care

Charging Setup Guide for Farizon SuperVAN Electric Van Fleets

When a business switches from diesel vans to electric vans, your "fuel station" moves to your own company car park. Good charging infrastructure is therefore just as important as choosing the right model. This guide summarizes best practices for users Farizon SuperVAN for both single vehicles and multi-vehicle fleets

Understanding SuperVAN charging

The SuperVAN supports both AC and DC charging. According to data released for the European market, the LFP battery version supports DC fast charging at up to 140 kW and charges from 20% to 80% in around 36 minutes, while the 106 kWh NMC battery version charges at up to 120 kW DC and takes slightly longer. Actual figures depend on the variant sold in Thailand, temperature and charger output.

Depot charging: the heart of fleet management

For urban delivery vans or staff shuttles that return to the same depot every day, overnight AC charging at the base is the most cost-effective approach, as installation costs far less than a DC charger and it is gentler on the battery over the long term. The recommended steps are:

  1. Survey your electrical system Have an electrician or electrical engineer check the transformer, meter and distribution board capacity to see how many chargers they can support
  2. Assess daily energy use Based on each vehicle's average mileage, calculate how much charging time is needed
  3. Choose chargers with load management Smart Charging distributes power across multiple vehicles without exceeding the meter's limit
  4. Use TOU electricity rates Schedule charging during off-peak hours to reduce energy costs
  5. Consider rooftop solar for vehicles parked during the daytime

When do you need a DC fast charger?

DC chargers suit fleets running multiple shifts per day, or vehicles that need a quick top-up during the day, such as delivery vans running both morning and afternoon rounds. If your fleet is still small, you can rely on public charging stations along your routes at first, then invest in an in-house DC charger as the fleet grows.

Caring for LFP batteries for a long service life

  • LFP batteries tolerate charging to 100% better than some other battery types, but always follow the recommendations in the owner's manual
  • Avoid leaving the vehicle parked with a very low battery for long periods
  • On very hot days, park in the shade to charge whenever possible
  • Use DC fast charging when necessary, and rely mainly on AC for daily use
  • Keep records of charging and mileage to track efficiency and plan maintenance
