Riddara RD6 vs. ECON: Which Electric Pickup Is Right for You?

The RD6 and ECON share the same foundation but serve different needs. Compare price, performance, equipment and use cases to choose the right electric pickup.

Riddara RD6 vs. ECON: Which Electric Pickup Is Right for You?

Many customers who visit our showroom are torn between the Riddara RD6 and the ECON, as both have similar body sizes and use the same electric technology from the Geely group. But a closer look reveals that each model is positioned quite differently. This article helps make the differences clear.

Price and market positioning

The ECON starts at 739,000 baht and the ECON L ranges from 849,000 to 949,000 baht, making them accessible options for commercial use. The RD6 ranges from around 869,000 to 1,149,000 baht based on prices announced at Motor Show 2026, with a focus on comfort, equipment and higher performance. All prices may change with campaigns; please ask the showroom for the latest pricing.

Performance and range

  • The four-wheel-drive RD6 delivers a maximum of 315 kW and 595 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds
  • The four-wheel-drive ECON L delivers 381 hp and 485 Nm of torque, accelerating in around 7 seconds
  • The RD6's maximum range is around 503 km (86 kWh, rear-wheel drive), while the ECON ranges from 352 to 398 km depending on the variant

For work covering no more than 200 to 250 km a day, the ECON's range is sufficient. But if you regularly travel between provinces, the RD6 with the 86 kWh battery offers more flexibility.

Comfort and equipment

RD6 models with the 73 kWh battery and above come fully loaded with a 14.6-inch screen, a 540-degree camera, a full driver assistance suite, 6 airbags and a 6 kW power outlet in the cargo bed. Four-wheel independent suspension delivers ride comfort close to an SUV, ideal for families using a pickup as their main car. The ECON, on the other hand, focuses on simplicity, durability and low cost — ideal for users who prioritize hauling over luxury.

Hauling and heavy-duty work

Both models have a payload of around one tonne, and the four-wheel-drive versions can tow up to 3,000 kg. The difference is that the ECON L has a bed 240 mm longer, making it easier to carry pipes, steel or timber, while the four-wheel-drive RD6 has the edge in wading depth and off-road driving modes.

Which to choose

  • Choose ECON / ECON L if it's an SME work vehicle on regular delivery routes and you want a low cost per vehicle
  • Choose RD6 if you want one vehicle for both work and family, long trips or frequent use of vehicle power

The best approach is to test drive both models on the routes you actually use — it will reveal the differences far more clearly than numbers on paper.
