Meet the New Top-of-the-Range Geely EX5 MAX+: Bigger Battery, 525 km Range (NEDC)

The new top-of-the-range Geely EX5 MAX+ launched at Motor Show 2026 with a 68.39 kWh battery, 525 km range (NEDC) and a price of 929,000 baht — plus a summary of how it differs from the PRO and MAX

Meet the New Top-of-the-Range Geely EX5 MAX+: Bigger Battery, 525 km Range (NEDC)

Since the Geely EX5 entered the Thai market, this mid-size electric SUV has attracted continued interest from Thai families thanks to its spacious cabin, comprehensive equipment and accessible price. Most recently, at the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show, the official importer and distributor launched the Geely EX5 MAX+ a new variant positioned above the existing MAX, focusing on what customers ask about most: driving range per charge.

Bigger battery, longer range

At the heart of the EX5 MAX+ is a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 68.39 kWh up from the 60.22 kWh pack in the PRO and MAX, increasing the NEDC driving range to 525 kilometers or around 450 kilometers under the WLTP standard, which is closer to real-world use. For drivers in Ayutthaya who regularly travel to Bangkok or up north, this extra range clearly reduces how often you need to stop to charge along the way.

The powertrain still uses a single electric motor with an 11-in-1 drive unit, which international media report delivers the same 160 kW (218 hp) and 320 Nm of torque, providing agile acceleration both in the city and on the highway.

Added equipment and details

  • 19-inch alloy wheels with Goodyear tires
  • New Moss Green body color, a muted green tone that looks refined and contemporary
  • Level 2 driver assistance systems (ADAS)
  • Responsive Flyme Auto infotainment system with software update support
  • Built on the GEA architecture, designed specifically for new energy vehicles

Pricing and position in the lineup

The EX5 MAX+ is priced at THB 929,000 with a special launch price of 899,000 baht for the first 400 customers, while at the same time the PRO and MAX had promotional prices of 739,000 and 849,000 baht respectively. Prices and campaigns may change over time, so check the latest pricing with the dealer before deciding.

In terms of value, the price difference between the MAX and MAX+ buys you a battery around 8 kWh larger and bigger wheels. Those who drive mainly in the city and charge at home every night may find the MAX is enough, but for those who often travel long distances or want peace of mind about range, the MAX+ is the more sensible choice.

Internationally proven safety

The Geely EX5 earned 5-star safety ratings from both Euro NCAP and ANCAP in 2025, scoring 86% for adult occupant protection and 87% for child occupant protection in Euro NCAP testing. Although these tests were conducted on vehicles sold in Europe and Australia, they are a strong reflection of the car's structural and safety system standards.

Who it's for

The EX5 MAX+ suits families looking for a single main electric SUV for both everyday life and trips upcountry. The cabin is spacious enough for five adults, while energy cost per kilometer remains significantly lower than a combustion-engine car when charging mainly at home.

If you'd like to experience the differences between each Geely EX5 variant for yourself, the Motor Creation team is happy to advise and arrange a test drive, along with the latest promotions and guidance on installing a home charger. Contact our showroom any day.
